Aims for 2025!
We are now well into the new year and we would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you from all of us at Aim Sanctuary.
Since our charity began we have grown at a steady pace as an umbrella association for the municipality - helping find sanctuary for animals in Marbella (and beyond!). As well as taking abandoned animals into private residences and foster care we help look after small rescue centres across the coast some of which are little known to the public and do not receive any government funding. We also fund individual animals needing specific care at our partner association sanctuary in Seville where they can decompress and recuperate in a calm and tranquil environment.
Our focus throughout the past year has been on quality care with an ethos of patience and positivity. Thanks to the wonderful support from people like you we’ve been able to help many animals find a new forever home in 2024 as well as provide financial support for medical treatment such as vaccinations, surgeries, hospital admissions and rehabilitation. We’ve also been able to support special cases with residential care and bespoke training.
We also continue to facilitate a quality rehoming service so that dogs do not need to endure the stress of busy shelters which are often full. Our sponsorship initiative launched earlier this year helping specific abandoned animals that have been in shelters for a long time with their ongoing costs. Sponsorship is particularly helpful for older dogs, challenging dogs and those who have less adoption prospects in the short term.
Our work has also involved a collection drive enabling us to deliver much needed bedding and food to eleven rescue shelters in Andalucia. We were also able to put up a new roof and kennels for one of our smaller rescues and building some small kennels for another rescue centre providing much needed shelter from the wind and rain.
This year we look forward to helping more animals find sanctuary either in foster residences or in their forever homes and continue to support small rescue centres in the wonderful work they do. We also intend to continue supporting the strong campaign to put a stop to bull-fighting and the abuse of horses and donkeys in Andalucia.
Thank you so much again for your support!
