Description

Jan is one of fifteen dogs rescued together from a desperate situation. Her previous owner suffered from Noah syndrome, a psychological disorder characterized by the pathological accumulation of animals in her home. Animals are generally rescued from the streets with good intentions, but the number of animals increases too quickly to provide adequate care for each one. It was after the owner's death that neighbors alerted us to the precarious situation.

In their previous home, the dogs did not go for walks, did not know what a leash is, and, at first, did not allow people to touch them. They are still in the process of socialization and adapting to a new life; a life in which each of them receives all the individual attention and love they deserve. We hope they can soon find a new home, a warm nest where their personalities can flourish.

Jan was neither spayed or chipped nor vaccinated during her previous life. Jan is the oldest female to arrive from the home, and it seems she has suffered quite a bit during her previous life. Jan arrived with an ulcer on her right eye; it's unclear what caused the injury. She is being treated with eye drops and is slowly recovering. Jan's blood tests showed she is positive for Ehrlichia and Babesia, two treatable diseases. Jan is undergoing treatment for both. Grandma will soon be doing well, with daily care and the necessary affection. We would love to offer her a forever home when that time comes. It will be her chance to fully enjoy the second part of her life. Aside from a thorough dental checkup, neutering, and a thorough dental cleaning, all that's left is for us to show Jan that the good life has just begun. She lives peacefully with other dogs, both male and female.
